The gardens surrounding historic Jimbour House, north of Dalby, feature mature Ficus Hillii, Cocos Palms, Jacaranda, Qld Bottle Trees and Bougainvillea. The house is positioned on a low rise, surrounded by flat black soil plains. Summers are hot, winters are frosty and the site would be very exposed if not for the large established trees.

Bougainvillea supported by a very sturdy timber pergola
There is a beautiful formal pool positioned on the edge of the garden overlooking the paddocks below.
Classic red Geraniums in terracotta pots welcome guests at the front steps.
The large Potager ( structured/ ornamental kitchen garden) is surrounded by this Olive hedge that is cut away in places to reveal huge old urns.

An old aerial photo of the homested, taken before the potager garden was built in the grassed area in the top right, shows the formal layout of the entry gardens and pool. Note the two huge Ficus that frame the front of the house.
