We grow a lot of our own nursery stock and we also source from other reputable growers, mostly in South East Queensland. Quality grown plants in a tough outdoor environment – our plants are not soft but they do receive the best of care by our experienced horticultural staff. Our native tube and super tube pots create the ideal young root system – ready to jump away when planted out. This growing system is also the basis of our collection of advanced trees in planter bags.
At any one time we stock a huge variety of plants and seasonally there are influxes of specific lines such as bare root fruit trees and roses in winter, citrus and bulbs in autumn, herbs and colourful perennials in spring and Bougainvilleas and hardy shade trees through Summer. We stock plants from small tube size right up to advanced trees in 45L bags. Because we stock bulk landscape materials as well as plants, we can compliment your plant purchase with the best soils, composts and mulches for you to complete your gardening project.
We offer a professional and very flexible horticultural advisory service to suit all "do it yourself landscapers". Starting with garden visits and preparation of specific plant lists through to complete garden plans, our service is flexible to accommodate our customer’s different needs. Planting Design is our specialty – the right plant for the right place. Years of experience in the local region is built into all that we do and many repeat customers and referrals are testimony to the quality of our advisory services.
Generally "Garden centres" are considered expensive places to purchase your plants- we challenge that notion and ask you to seriously compare the price, quality and value we offer. We grow a lot of our own stock, giving us a price advantage. Our small plants in tubes are available from just $3.90 each and our "supertube" stock represent great value at just $6.90 each. Regular customers are offered membership to our Torrington Club and reward vouchers for cumulative purchases on most stock items.
In the nursery we present our plants in themed areas for Natives, Food, Traditional and Patio plants with display boards of some inspirational images and ideas relating to the theme. You can wander through our own creative display garden in which no supplementary water is given to plants after their first summer – this is a genuine waterwise garden full of drought hardy plants, if they are not tough – they perish. Our website is another source of inspiration for our customers with ideas and images on garden styles as well as our newsletter page highlighting current trends, ideas and events.
